CQC Inspection Readiness for Dental Practices
Walk into your next inspection calm, organised and confident.
The practice manager holds the whole practice together — the team, the diary, the numbers, the regulator and the patients. Our practice manager track combines the Level 4 Practice Manager Certificate with Commercial Practice Skills, CQC inspection readiness and the governance CPD every manager has to evidence: for new managers, senior administrators stepping up and owners running their own practice.
Every course on this track is built around tasks you actually do in a UK dental practice — not theory for its own sake.
Lead, appraise and develop a multi-disciplinary dental team
Read the practice numbers — KPIs, revenue, productivity and cash flow — and act on them
Run a full, well-managed diary with fewer cancellations and failed appointments
Own CQC compliance, health & safety, information governance and complaints
Grow the practice ethically through enquiries, recalls, retention and treatment-plan follow-up
Apply employment law, HR processes and NHS/private contract management confidently
Begin with the certificate step, then earn the advanced certificate. Add CPD modules whenever your practice needs them.
Structured certificate courses for people ready to specialise.
Lead a team, run a function or coordinate complex cases.
Short verifiable modules that keep you current and compliant.

The compliance calendar and stock templates are now part of how our practice runs. Excellent value.
We had our CQC inspection three weeks after completing this. The checklist and evidence-folder index meant we were ready and it went smoothly.
Clear, dental-specific and straight to the point. The certificate downloaded the moment I finished — exactly what I needed for my CPD record.
Still unsure which course to start with? Tell us about your role and we'll recommend a path.
Ask our teamStart with Commercial Practice Skills if the diary, enquiries and numbers are your immediate problem, or go straight to the Dental Practice Manager Certificate (Level 4) for the full leadership, HR, finance and compliance programme. CQC Inspection Readiness and the governance CPD modules slot in whenever an inspection or audit is due.
No — it is written for the whole non-clinical team. Receptionists, administrators and treatment coordinators each own part of the commercial picture (the diary, cancellations, enquiries, recalls, follow-up), and the course gives everyone the same language and KPIs. Many practices put the whole front-of-house team through it together.
Managers who are not registered dental professionals have no statutory CPD requirement, but CQC expects evidence of training in safeguarding, complaints, information governance, health & safety and infection control for everyone who runs the practice. Our certificates give you that evidence, and the Level 4 certificate carries 35 verifiable hours.
No. Every track starts with a free taster and a foundation course written for people in their first weeks in the role. Advanced courses assume you have completed the foundation level or have equivalent experience.
There is no deadline — access is for life. Most learners finish a foundation course in two to three weeks studying an hour or two a week, and a CPD module in a single sitting.
Yes. Every course issues a downloadable certificate listing the aims, learning outcomes, CPD development outcomes and verifiable CPD hours. Practices use them for CQC training evidence and appraisals.
Lifetime access, certificates on completion and free updates when guidance changes.
