About this course

The dental receptionist is the first voice a patient hears and the last face they see. This Level 2 foundation course gives you the knowledge, language and confidence to run the front desk of a modern UK dental practice from day one.

Across 24 bite-sized lessons you will learn how a practice is organised, what happens in each treatment, how to read a dental chart, and how to manage the appointment book so clinicians stay productive and patients stay happy. Real front-desk scenarios — the anxious patient, the missed appointment, the awkward payment conversation — are worked through step by step.

On completion you will receive a verifiable CPD certificate (12 hours) that evidences your induction training for CQC and supports your first steps on the dental career ladder.

Laura Bell Dental Receptionist, Milton Keynes · Jul 2026

I started at the practice with zero dental knowledge. After this I could book the right appointments, explain NHS bands and actually understand what the dentists were asking for.

Kirsty Doyle Senior Receptionist, Belfast · Jul 2026

As a lead receptionist I wanted something to help me coach my team. This gave me a framework for KPIs and feedback I still use every week.

Charlotte Evans Dental Receptionist, Swansea · May 2026

The telephone scripts alone were worth it — our new-patient bookings went up within a month of the whole reception team completing it.
