About this course

The GDC highly recommends that every registrant completes at least 10 hours of medical-emergencies CPD per five-year cycle, with a refresher every year. This annual update covers the emergencies that actually occur in dental practices — syncope, hypoglycaemia, anaphylaxis, asthma, angina and cardiac arrest, seizures, choking and adrenal crisis — and the whole-team response each requires.

Aligned with Resuscitation Council UK guidance, the course walks through the ABCDE approach, the emergency drugs and equipment every practice must hold, and the roles of reception and admin staff when the emergency bell rings.

This online module covers the knowledge component; practical BLS/CPR skills must be practised hands-on with a trainer.

Solid content for the price. The radiography roles and responsibilities section cleared up a lot of confusion in our practice.

Kirsty Doyle Senior Receptionist, Belfast · May 2026

Quick, verifiable and relevant. I completed three core topics in one weekend and logged them the same day.

As decontamination lead I found the HTM 01-05 content accurate and practical. Used the audit section to tidy up our logs before inspection.
