About this course

Dental teams see children and vulnerable adults regularly and are often the first to notice signs of neglect or abuse — including dental neglect. This Level 2 course, mapped to the intercollegiate safeguarding competencies, equips every team member to recognise concerns, respond appropriately and refer through the right channels.

Covers types of abuse, was-not-brought policies, the Mental Capacity Act, information sharing, record-keeping, the role of the practice safeguarding lead and working with local authority teams.

Quick, verifiable and relevant. I completed three core topics in one weekend and logged them the same day.

As decontamination lead I found the HTM 01-05 content accurate and practical. Used the audit section to tidy up our logs before inspection.
